Here are some resources we LOVE for communication:
1. Remind
Remind is a free application that can be accessed on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop! It is free and allows students or club members to subscribe to short updates like "Hey, check your e-mail for meeting information!" or "Meeting in 2 hours, see you all there!" and has been updating its features recently! It's user friendly, allows for seamless communication, and is fairly effective. Check it out and let us know what you think!
2. Canva.com
Canva.com is a free designing website that makes advertising SUPER easy. They have so many free templates and resources that makes communication much more effective. Visuals are KEY to communication in this technological age and this website makes making visually pleasing materials SO easy. We haven't had a boring e-mail or meeting outline since discovering canva.com.
3. Mailchimp.com
Speaking of e-mail, mailchimp.com is a key resource for creating professional emails and MORE IMPORTANTLY for marketing analysis of e-mails. If you are like our club and struggle with communication often, this website is very helpful. Not only are e-mails much cleaner in appearance, the website has a feature that allows you to track which of your subscribers has opened the e-mail, allowing you to see which members need to be reminded or contacted in a different way. It also allows you to see if your e-mails are generally effective and if they are more effective when paired with visuals. It's overall a good way to monitor communicative effectiveness.
4. Calendly
Calendly is SO COOL. It's not completely practical for all KAY clubs, but if you have to meet one-on-one with members or groups in your club (or are having leadership-position mentoring sessions like our club is), this website makes it easy for members to schedule meetings with you WITHOUT email tag (i.e. "Can we meet at this time?", "No, sorry, I'm busy that day, how about this time?," "No, I'm busy that day," and so on). I would definitely recommend this to people who regularly schedule meetings or have trouble scheduling meeting times with other people. Check it out!
